The number of stone pelting incidents in the Kashmir Valley has now come down compared to the previous two governments of the PDP-BJP alliance (mid-2015 to mid-2018) and the earlier National Conference-Indian National Congress (2009-14) governments. The reason for this is the imposition of President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir.
Reduction in stones incidents in President’s rule
There have been 349 stone pelting incidents in the state in the last one year after President’s rule. Whereas till July 17 this year there were 355 incidents. According to reports, 2,690 stone pelting incidents occurred in the National Congress-Congress government.
Most stoned in PDP-BJP government

Organizations like Jamaat-e-Islami and Tehreek-e-Insaf are active in Sopore, Baramulla and Pulwama. According to the anti-terrorism team, there are currently a total of 300 militants in the Valley, of which 115 have Pakistan or Afghan nationality. Security agencies are trying to stop them.
