Bitcoin-based ‘Space Pepes’ is the most traded NFT collection of the week | coindesk JAPAN

The “Pepe the Frog” pixel art on a spaceship has become the latest hot item for digital art collectors in the world of Web3.

Bitcoin-based ‘Space Pepes’ collection has become the most traded non-fungible token (NFT) with $7.3 million worth traded in seven days, according to Cryptoslam data .

Space Pepes sell for just under $100 each, and the majority of the deals occurred on May 19, according to the data. After that, trading gradually declined.

This number is higher than the popular Ethereum-based collection “Bored Apes Yacht Club (BAYC)” and its counterparts on other networks such as Solana and Polygon, where bitcoin-based artwork was more known among collectors. It has been shown to be more popular than the work of

Another collection by the same creator as BAYC, “Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC)”, has a cumulative transaction volume of $9 million (about 1.25 billion yen). ImmutableX-based ‘Gods Unchained’ worth $4 million, viral ‘Milady’ collection worth $3 million was done.

Over the past 30 days, bitcoin NFTs have recorded around $167 million in trading volume, far behind Ethereum’s around $397 million. However, according to Cryptoslam, Bitcoin NFT sales are about three times that of Solana, which is worth about $57 million.
