According to Cointelegraph, Blockchain-based internet browser Brave, Reddit, and Vimeo ‘s system by integrating cryptographic money continue to expand the limits of the donation option.
According to a recent Twitter release, a new version of the Brave Browser will be able to donate to the ad-free video platform Vimeo and the social media site Reddit, using Brave’s own token, Basic Attention Token (BAT).
The donation feature to be added to Reddit and Vimeo came just after Brave’s test browser, Brave Nightly, launched for the first time on the social media platform Twitter after a successful service trial. We shared Brave’s Twitter move with you in this news …
On the other hand, according to Reddit’s statement about a month ago, Brave signaled to Reddit and Vimeo early this summer that the donation feature will be added as part of a developer preview of the browser.
Reddit and Vimeo
Brave’s attempt to offer a donation option to Reddit and Vimeo is not the first attempt at offering platform users the ability to donate content. In 2012, Vimeo introduced the Tip Jar feature, enabling content creators to receive donations between $ 1 and $ 500 via credit card or PayPal. However, the service was terminated in July 2015, as Vimeo focused on another tool for monetizing generated content, Vimeo On Demand.
In 2013, Reddit launched a content donation option with the “Bitcointip” bot at Bitcoin. The service was terminated just before another Bitcoin donation option, Changetip, was introduced to the user in 2014. However, Changetip was closed down in 2017 after registering 100,000 records and more than 350,000 donations.
