CFO of Future Enterprises arrested, Rs 14.6 crore Accused of custom duty evasion

Kolkata. Future Enterprises Company’s CFO Dinesh Maheshwari was arrested on Friday by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI). Maheshwari is accused of stolen custom duty of Rs 14.58 crore According to the DRI, Future Enterprises misused the duty free import facility under the South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA). The company imported goods worth Rs. 35.91 crores in 83 consignments from June 2017 to January 2018. A custom duty of Rs 14.58 crores is made on these. However, the company has got the exception of violating the Custom Act.

DRI investigation revealed that the clothes were supplied from Dubai and Singapore by the Third Party, but after least processing, delivery came from Bangladesh. Dinesh Maheshwari is the main accused in this case.
