Kochi. The entire team of Kasaragod returned to the pavilion only with 4 runs on Thursday in the Under-19 match of girls played at Parinithalamana Stadium in Malappuram. In the match against Wayanad, none of Kasaragod’s team members could open the account. Not only this, all the batsmen who have been dismissed have been clean bowled.
All the batsmen got bowled!
This is probably the first case of all-batsmen being dismissed in a single innings in the history of cricket in the same way. The four runs in the team’s account were made due to the extra runs of the opposing team’s bowlers. Waynad scored the required 5 runs in an over and won the match by 10 wickets.
In this match, Kasaragod captain S Azhta won the toss and decided to bat. However, her decision proved wrong. Team opener Viveeta and S Chitra batted for 2 overs, but both of them could not open their account. In the third over, Wayne’s captain Nitya also sent Rajas of Kasaragod back to the pavilion in addition to the two openers. In the next two overs, Kasaragod gave away three wickets. Afterwards the other batsmen came in without opening their accounts back to pavilion.
