Panipat. The Income Tax Department’s 89-hour raid on the hideouts of Haryana Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi revealed undisclosed assets and tax evasion of about Rs 230 crore. Officials said on Sunday that Bishnoi’s assets worth 200 crore have been reported abroad. Information about this is being shared with the investigating agencies. The Income Tax team started action on July 23 at 13 locations in Bishnoi, including Haryana, Delhi and Himachal.
The Income Tax Department has told in a press release that the group which has been acted upon in the past. The neighboring state governing it has long held political positions and accumulated undisclosed assets worth crores. The evidence found so far has revealed that they have been dealing with huge undisclosed cash for real estate. Official sources say that the matter is related to Kuldeep Bishnoi.
Property in countries like Panama, UK and UAE
According to Income Tax officials, the raid has revealed domestic income tax evasion of around Rs 30 crore and undisclosed foreign assets worth Rs 200 crore. The property had been hidden for decades in British Iceland, Panama, the UK and the UAE. This information is now being shared with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and investigating agencies.
Kuldeep’s wife and son were also questioned
Authorities started raiding Kuldeep Bishnoi’s hideouts from 23 July. Kuldeep Bishnoi, wife Renuka Bishnoi, son Bhavya Bishnoi were also questioned in the 89-hour operation.
