ATOM recently implemented programming involving 3 languages: Secure EcmaScript, Ethermint [based on Solidity], and Pact. Currently, Cosmos is trading on 80 active markets [according to the data obtained from coinmarketcap].
Due to Cosmos branching out, it will serve as a better competitor for Ethereum Classic [the latter will soon be having their Atlantis hard-fork].
