Bitpoint, a Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the listing schedule for Cardano (ADA) which is set to happen later this month. The company announced on the 3rd that it would list Cardano on its exchange, making it the first Japanese trading platform to do so.
Detailing its schedule, it was announced that ADA will be listed on 25 August at 11:30 PM UTC.
Recently, Japanese crypto trading platform EMURGO has also disclosed its plans to introduce ADA to its listing.
Japan has extremely strict regulations for governing crypto exchanges in its territory. Listing Cardano on a Japanese exchange indicated a favorable view of the cryptocurrency from the authorities.
Alonzo summit 2021
Speaking of the currency, Cardano’s major upgrade ‘Alonzo’ hard fork is scheduled to launch on September 12. The Alonzo summit will be held on September 25th and 26th of this year.
The upgrade would introduce Cardano’s smart contract on the scheduled date and it has already been introduced on the platform’s testnet. Currently, many pioneers, exchanges, and decentralized application developers have started testing the functionality of the smart contract.
The announcement led to large price movements in its cryptocurrency ADA, making it the third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Its market capitalization crossed $64 billion surpassing Tether and Binance Coin.
