Jason Citron, CEO and founder of social media platform Discord, announced on the 8th that Discord might link Ethereum (ETH) and MetaMask with its platform.
Citron posted a screenshot on Twitter of apparently private development of an update that will allow users to connect to Ethereum, and two digital wallets – MetaMask and WalletConnect. The CEO replied with “probably nothing” to a tweet by Packy McCormick who was analyzing Discord’s affinity with Web 3.0.

Discord is a social networking app that is immensely popular in competitive gaming scenes such as eSports. In addition, almost every crypto and blockchain project has a discord server for its platform. According to Wikipedia, Discord has over 250 million users as of May 2019, consisting of mainly a younger audience.
Discord specializes in high-performance voice chat functions, a feature hugely popular in DAO operations. Since the announcement, the potential initiative has gained wide support from the crypto community.
