Ethereum Classic Launches Accelerate Program

Yesterday Ethereum Classic Labs formally announced its Accelerate program. Accelerate partners with blockchain companies and communities to build products, services and decentralised applications (dApps) on the Ethereum Classic network.

The first Cohort occurred during the first three months of 2019 with 11 blockchain companies, who Accelerate funded, educated and mentored to create products on Ethereum Classic. The focus of this Cohort was to build the necessary infrastructure and tools for dApps. The companies were reportedly greatly successful in developing and adopting Ethereum Classic.

This adoption was facilitated through ETC Labs, which provided a structured curriculum, containing workshops and guest lectures on aspects such as investor pitch preparation, business structuring and go-to-market planning.

Some highlights include the development of BUTTON Wallet, a messenger-based crypto wallet and EtherNode, a blockchain network which aims to make blockchain network connectivity easy for novice users to developers. Cryzen, an algorithmic trading platform for cryptocurrencies and Monetizr, a marketplace for game developers who wish to monetise their mobile games and who is now partnered with Angry Birds 4 also received funding and mentorship to launch on the Ethereum Classic platform.

CEO of Monitizr Andris Merkulovs commented about the program:

“I received more investor introductions than a leading global accelerator who’s been around for over a decade.”

They plan on hosting two Cohorts per year, each focused on a different theme, with the second Cohort of 2019 being hosted in the third quarter of this year.

Each Accelerate program is three months, and focuses on guiding startups on product development, legal, regulation, market strategy, community development, and sales strategy.
