France’s prestigious football club Paris Saint-Germain announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Crypto.com, a major cryptocurrency platform. The platform has become an official sponsor of the Parisian club.
It was revealed that most of the partnership fees will be paid by Crypto.com’s proprietary crypto asset, CRO. Crypto.com has become the official crypto partner and will not only advertise the brand but also release a limited edition NFT for Paris Saint-Germain.
Marc Armstrong, the Chief Partnerships Officer at PSG commented on the partnership:
“We are delighted to welcome Crypto.com to the Paris Saint-Germain partner family. We share the same passion for innovation and the same ambition to reach the very top. With this partnership, Paris Saint-Germain demonstrates once more its vision and leadership as a pioneer in areas such as lifestyle, esports and digital.”
Apart from buying and selling crypto assets, crypto.com offers a variety of services such as payment services and crypto-assets Visa cards to over 10 million users in more than 90 countries.
Crypto.com is a fairly new entrant in the NFT space and has previously released NFTs for Aston Martin’s F1 team and artist Snoop Dogg.
Focusing on marketing via sports sponsorship deals, Crypto.com has recently partnered with Motorsport and Formula 1 (F1) to set up a new “Overtake Award” for F1 drivers. It has signed partnerships with the UFC, the ice hockey world championship series as well as the Italian soccer club Serie A.
