Mangaluru In the case of death of Founder of Cafe Coffee Day VG Siddharth, Sringeri MLA TD Rajegowda said on Wednesday that Siddharth was upset over the harassment of the Income Tax Department. Rajegowda told that Siddharth was a family friend and colleague for 40 years. According to Rajegowda, Siddharth was upset about 4-5 days before his disappearance. They wanted to sell their assets to pay off the debt. The value of their assets is more than the liabilities. If he had not been harassed, he would have been alive today.
Siddaramaiah said – The case of Siddharth’s death is disturbing. The reasons for this should be revealed through a fair investigation. He said that the alleged letter of Siddharth mentioned tax terrorism. Siddaramaiah said that this is the ugly reality of institutions with political influence.
Siddharth had mentioned the action of Income Tax Department in the alleged letter of July 27.
Rajegowda says that Siddharth also worked for the country’s economy and Karnataka. He employed 30-35 thousand poor people in rural areas.
Siddharth’s body was found in the Netravati River in Mangalore on Wednesday. They went missing on Monday. On July 27, in an alleged letter to the staff, Siddharth had alleged harassment by the former DG of the Income Tax Department. In January this year, the Income Tax Department had attached Siddharth’s shares. He said that this action led to a cash crisis. However, the Income Tax Department said in a press release on Tuesday that action was taken against Siddharth as per rules.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of betraying those who voted for a free and hassle-free economy. The Congress also raised the issue of Siddharth in the Lok Sabha.
