Major crypto derivatives exchange FTX has now been revealed as the naming rights sponsor of the Australian Blockchain Week 2022, the country’s largest blockchain and crypto-focused event.

I'm incredibly excited to announce @FTX_Official as the Naming Rights Sponsor for Blockchain Week 2022.

The event will be held in different cities of Australia for five consecutive days from March 21st to 25th. Approximately 200 speakers, including FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, will discuss market trends of digital assets, blockchain technology, payment methods, regulations, and their outlook on metaverse.

The sponsorship agreement was revealed by Steve Vallas, CEO of Blockchain Australia, in a LinkedIn post Monday. Founded in 2016, Blockchain Australia is a tech company offering consulting and enterprise solutions for businesses looking to implement blockchain technology.

Commenting on the announcement, Bankman-Fried said:

“With our focus on supporting the long-term growth of the Australian market, we look forward to contributing to discussions to advance the local industry, better safeguard and protect consumers, and enabling financial institutions to evolve and thrive in the crypto industry.”

FTX made several acquisitions and sponsorship deals in the past year. The exchange acquired the naming rights of the arena of the NBA team Miami Heat in a $135 million deal.
