new Delhi. Illegal Activities (Prevention) Amendment Bill (UAPA Law) has passed in the Lok Sabha in 2019, now it is yet to be passed in the Rajya Sabha. If it becomes a law of terrorism after getting approval from Parliament, then Masood Azhar, responsible for the mastermind of the Mumbai attacks Hafiz Saeed and the Pulwama attacks, can be declared as the first terrorist. If this happens, the travel of both of them will be banned and their property will be seized.
The Home Ministry official said on Friday that this proposed bill is in line with the international standards and agreement of the United Nations. As soon as this anti-terrorist UAPA bill will pass in the Rajya Sabha, soon after, action will be taken against Hafiz and Masood. According to an official, anybody’s lobby as a terrorist will be only after the approval of the Union Home Ministry. A person named as Terror can appeal to the Union Home Secretary, which will have to settle the appeal within 45 days.
Hafeez arrested in Pakistan in Terror funding case Hafiz was arrested from Lahore on July 17 in the Terror Funding and Money Laundering case. The court sent him on July 24 to 14 days in judicial custody. On July 3, about two dozen cases of terror funding and money laundering were registered against 13 leaders of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, including anti-terrorism act-1997 under Hafiz. Earlier this year, in March this year, the Pakistan government had banned the organizations of Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Falah-e-Insariyat of Hafiz.
