Privacy-focused internet browser Brave is ready to offer its 42 million monthly active users with Solana-based dApps, as per the announcement made Monday. Brave has integrated with the Solana blockchain and will offer wallet features for the Solana blockchain.
So far, Brave has supported Ethereum (ETH) and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) on its platform. Moreover, the browser now has plans to support additional blockchains after the integration of Solana.
Launched in 2019, Brave is an open-source internet browser that emphasizes privacy and automatically blocks fraudulent ads and trackers. The platform has introduced a system that lets users earn Basic Attention Token (BAT), an Ethereum-based ERC-20 token, by viewing advertisements.
“With more and more users and creators requiring tools for fast and affordable access to the decentralized Web, this integration will seamlessly pave the way for the next billion crypto users to harness applications and tokens,” Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of Brave, said in a statement.
The integration will allow both Solana and Brave to gain new users. Solana will promote the use of Brave’s unique token BAT on the Solana chain. On the other hand, Solana will implement Brave’s decentralized advertising platform, Themis, in the future.
Brave is currently the third most downloaded mobile browser after Google Chrome and Opera (Google Play and Apple Store downloads), according to data by appfigures.
