Fast bowler, Irfan Pathan will bid for the T20 League of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) auction to be played in West Indies. Pathan is the first Indian to participate in the auction of CPL. A total of 536 players from 20 countries are ready for the auction. In CPL, the teams include Barbados tribes, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica searches, Saint Keats and Nevis Patriot, Saint Lucia stars and Trinidad Knight Riders play.
The list of players has been sent to all the teams before the auctions. The auction will reportedly be held on May 22. If a team buys Pathan 34 years, he would be the first Indian to play in the league. The operation director of CPL, Michael Hall has expressed happiness over the participation of a large number of sports persons for the auction this year.
Pathan could not participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the last two seasons. Last time he played for the Gujarat Lions in 2017. He had a chance to play in just one match. In 2016, he played just 4 matches for the Pune Supergiants.
