A shoe was lodged at Kamal Hassan by Hanuman Sena and other party members. At the Thirparankundram assembly constituency, a sandal was thrown in the direction of the veteran actor.
The sandal failed to reach the stage and got lost in the crowd. Three days ago, Kamal had declared Nathuram Godse as the first Hindu extremist that our country had faced. The Prime Minister had said no Hindu can ever be a terrorist.
Several BJP workers and members from other organizations who were involved in the matter were charged. Haasan’s party Makal Nidhi Moyam(MNM) has candidates at Aravakurichi as well.
The Madras High Court refused to pay heed to Haasan’s petition regarding bail and the appeal to dismiss the FIR. He has stood by his words saying that he will not bow to authority. History can’t be changed.
He has been accused of hurting Hindu sentiments. He retorted back saying that his family believes in Hinduism, and his statements are based on truth.
