Big 4 accounting firm KPMG published a report revealing investments in cryptocurrency and blockchain-related companies to be more than double in 2021 as compared to the previous year.
The report, which summarized the latest FinTech investment trends in the industry, reported that blockchain companies in 2020 saw a total investment of $4.3 billion. Whereas, the first half of 2021 saw a massive influx of investments in the crypto market, taking the total investments to $8.3 billion. The amount of the first half of 2021 is more than double the annual investment of 2020.
Additionally, the average investment amount per investment has also increased in contrast to the previous three years.
Such large data indicates a growing interest and knowledge in the crypto field, leading many institutional investors to enter the blockchain and crypto-related ventures.
The 78-page report, titled “Pulse of Fintech H1 2021” revealed cases of large funding rounds such as BlockFi recording a $350 million funding, Paxos $300 million, Blockchain.com $300 million, and Bitso recording 250 million in its rounds of funding.
