Maruti sales fell 33.5% in July, 69% decline in the mini car segment

  • Domestic sales fell 36.3% in Maruti’s total sales, 9.4% decline in exports

new Delhi. Maruti’s sales fell 33.5% to 1 lakh 09 thousand 264 units in July. In July last year, 1 lakh 64 thousand 369 vehicles were sold. The company released the figures on Thursday. Domestic sales declined by 36.3% to 98 thousand 210 units as against 1 lakh 54 thousand 150 units (July 2018).

Sales of the mid-size car Ciaz increased by 4893.8%. 2,397 vehicles were sold in July this year as against 48 units in July 2018. Maruti’s exports declined by 9.4% to 9,258 units. In July last year, 10,219 vehicles were exported.

Maruti’s mini segment includes vehicles like the Alto and WagonR. Compact includes Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Desire. Utility vehicles include vehicles like Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga.
