US business Intelligence firm MicroStrategy now boasts over 108,992 BTC after announcing on the 24th that it had bought an additional 3907 BTC for nearly $177 million. This is the second time in two months the company has bought more Bitcoins.
The announcement was made by MicroStrategy CEO Micheal Saylor via Twitter. As per the Tweet, the company bought 3,907 BTC at an average price of 45,294 per Bitcoin.
The tweet also noted that the 108,992 bitcoins were acquired for $2.918 billion at an average price of $26,769 per bitcoin. MicroStrategy Bitcoin holdings are now worth $5.3 billion, according to current price levels.
Previously, the company bought over 13,000 bitcoins for approximately $489 million in cash on June 21. During the financial results meeting held on July 29, CEO Saylor remarked the company would continue to buy more Bitcoins in the future.
