Washington. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session in New York on 28 September. The UN released a list of global leaders for the 74th session of the General Assembly. Earlier, Modi on September 22 in Houston, ‘Howdy Modi!’ Will also participate in the program.
United Nations General Assembly session to be held from 24 to 30 September
On the US visit, Modi will be involved in bilateral and multilateral talks with some international leaders during the General Assembly itself. Earlier Modi also addressed the UNGA session in the first year (2014) of the first term. This year the debates will run from 24 to 30 September. Modi will speak on stage on September 28.
Modi will meet Indian community for the third time in America
Modi will address the Indian community on September 22 in Houston, USA. The summit will be hosted by the Houston-based Texas India Forum. Houston is also known as the energy capital of the world. Energy security has also been a priority for Modi.
This will be the third time after becoming Prime Minister in 2014, when Modi will deliver a speech in front of the Indian-American community in America. Earlier, Modi’s programs were also held in New York Madison Square Garden in 2014 and Silicon Valley in 2016. On both occasions there was a huge crowd of Indians. According to an estimate, more than 20 thousand people from all over the US came to listen to Modi in these programs.
Modi will participate in the program on climate change
On September 23, Modi will also deliver a speech at a special meeting on climate change hosted by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. After this, on September 24-25, he will also participate in the summit on the UN’s sustainable development target.
US President Donald Trump will deliver a speech at the United Nations General Assembly on 24 September. According to the list of speakers, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the General Assembly on 27 September. This year, heads of 48 countries and foreign ministers from 30 countries will arrive in New York to deliver a speech at the General Assembly.
