Australia’s off-spinner Nathan Leon took three wickets in the first innings of the second Ashes series against England. He equaled former fast bowler Dennis Lilly for the highest wicket-taker for Australia. Leon took 355 wickets in 88 games. Lily scored 355 wickets in 70 Tests between 1971 and 1984. With Leon’s excellent bowling, Australia was all out for 258 in their first innings.
For Australia, Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath are ahead of Leon in terms of taking the highest wicket. Warne took 708 wickets in 145 Tests. McGregor had taken 563 wickets in 124 Tests. Leon is seventh among the highest wicket-takers in the Test.
