At Bethpage Black, it was a rollercoaster ride for Tiger Woods on Thursday. Brooks Koepka who is the present champion seized the glory.
Koepka was able to launch a seven-under-par 63, the one round that was bogey-free the entire day. On the other hand, Tiger Woods had an erratic play. His game resulted in two double bogeys and three-putted three times en route to a 2-over 72.
Koepka has a one-stroke lead over New Zealand’s Danny Lee with 18 holes. Koepka is glad about the turnout; he says his putter was on a hot streak that has been missing for a while.
Lee was able to score back-to-back birdies in order to shoot 64. Tommy Fleetwood shot 67, followed closely by Frenchman Mike Lorenzo-Vera, South Korea’s Kang Sung, and so on.
Recently, Tiger Woods was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. He gave a moving speech during the ceremony. However, it’s highly improbable that he is considering retirement at the moment,
