- Lok Sabha passed the Illegal Activity Redressal Amendment (UAPA) Bill, 2019 Bill
- Manish Tiwari asked – What is the motive behind the so-called stringent law? Walk-out of opposition parties including Congress during the discussion
- Shah said – we want to eliminate terrorism, the power of states will not be reduced from the amended law
new Delhi. In the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, the Unlawful Activities Prevention Amendment (UAPA) Bill, 2019 Bill has passed. There was a sharp debate between the Opposition during this period. Congress and other opposition parties opposed the introduction of new provisions in the law. They walk out of the House demanding to send the bill to the Standing Committee. During the discussion, Home Minister Amit Shah said that the government fights against terrorism. What party is in power and who brought the bill, should not make any difference. There is a stringent law needed for the end of terrorism.
Congress leader Manish Tewari asked – What is the motive behind the amendment of the UAPA Bill and the tightening of the provision? Shah said that if Congress Government brings bill, right then, but we are doing amendment, then what is wrong in it? We want to eliminate terrorism, the power of the states will not be reduced from the revised law. This law came in 1967 with the Congress government. After this you made amendments in 2004, 2008 and 2013 only. Who made the law strong? So what we are doing is also right.
Government will not compromise with urban Naxalism: Shah
Shah said, “There is a provision in United Nations to declare terrorists and their helpers as terrorists. America, Pakistan, China, Israel and European Union are all inclusive. Now we have made provisions in the revised bill for this too. We have also taken care of that no one is able to abuse the law. The BJP government is against urban Naxalism. We will not make any compromises with such people, such as urban Naxalism or ideology that promotes illegal activities. ”
Earlier, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that I consider the Congress responsible for this. Congress is the real culprit for bringing UAPA legislation. They brought this law when the power was more powerful than the BJP. Now you are defeated, you want to become the big brother of the Muslims.
Modi-Trump meet no talks on Kashmir: Rajnath
Earlier, there was a ruckus in the Lok Sabha on the second day on US President Donald Trump’s mediated statement on Kashmir. The opposition slogans ‘Modi answer’ in the House. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh replied on this. He said, “Foreign Minister Jayashankar has made statements on this matter. I consider Jaishankar’s statement authentic. Trump and Modiji had a talk in June and at that time Jayashankar was present there. If Pak will talk about Kashmir issue then not only Kashmir but also ‘Pak official Kashmir’ will be included. ”
The issue of self respect for the Kashmir government
Rajnath accusing the Opposition, said that earlier it was being said that if the ruling party would answer, he would listen. But after the Foreign Minister, I am also answering and they are not ready to listen. There is no question of accepting anyone’s mediation on Kashmir. Kashmir is the issue of our national self respect. We can not ever compromise with our national pride Meanwhile, Congress MPs walked out of the House. Opposition demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi come and answer this matter in Parliament. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor also gave a moratorium on the issue in the Lok Sabha.
External Affairs Minister Jayashankar has already put in the side
Trump had on Monday claimed that during the meeting with Pak PM Imran, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a recent meeting asked him to play the role of mediator on Kashmir issue. External Affairs Minister S. Jayashankar on Tuesday held the government’s side in this matter in the Rajya Sabha. He had said that India’s position is clear that any issue with Pakistan will be resolved in a bilateral manner. For any kind of dialogue with Pakistan, it is necessary to stop cross border terrorism.
