Bengaluru The debate on the vote of confidence in Karnataka assembly for nearly 14 hours on Monday. Despite this, the floor test could not be done. During the debate, Speaker Ramesh Kumar had to use a tone of accent. Actually, the Congress and JDS members shouted slogans in the House. These people said that unless the decision of resignation of rebel legislators is decided, the floor test should not be done. Eventually the speaker adjourned the assembly till 10 a.m. on late at night. But, he also said that the floor test will be done before 6 o’clock on this day.

Before the proceedings of the assembly began, the Speaker issued notice to 15 rebel legislators on the issue of ineligibility. Speaker summoned the MLAs to their office on July 23 at 11 o’clock. During the proceedings, the speaker said, “Today I will pass an order. The delay in understanding the Supreme Court order All members should maintain dignity in the House. Here, waste of time, the image of assembly, speaker and MLAs is bleak. ”

On the letter of resignation, Swamy said, “ A letter has been filed on the social media falsely signed, which claimed that it was the resignation of Kumaraswamy. On this, the Chief Minister of Karnataka said in the assembly that I have received information regarding this. It is being said that I have sent my resignation to the governor. I do not know who is waiting to be the Chief Minister. Someone has signed my burn and spread it on social media. I am surprised to see this kind of fall.

First Speaker to Decide On Resignations- Congress

Congress leader DK Shivkumar said: If BJP wants a chair, why not accept it? Why are not they talking about Operation Lotus? They should accept the fact that they are in contact with rebel legislators. Congress MLA Krishna Baiyyara Gowda said – we are in extraordinary circumstances. I appeal to the speaker to decide on the resignations before voting for the confidence vote.

The Supreme Court’s refusal to hear the appeal of Independent legislators, the Supreme Court had earlier refused to hear the petition of two independent legislators. On Sunday, two independent legislators who withdrew support to the Congress-JDS government had asked the Supreme Court to order floor test by Monday evening till 5 PM. On the other hand, the only BSP MLA from the state, An Mahesh, was asked by party chief Mayawati to support Kumaraswamy’s favor. Earlier, Anne Mahesh had said that he would remain neutral during the floor test. However, during the debate on the Vote vote, BSP MLAs were absent in the House.

Kumaraswamy ignored the governor’s two deadlines that the Governor Vajubhai Vala had given deadlines to Kumaraswamy at 1.30 pm and then till 6 pm to prove the majority. But the Chief Minister did not prove trust vote on this day. Kumaraswamy had said on Friday, “I have respect for the governor, but his second love letter has hurt me. The Congress filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Supreme Court judgment, in which the verdict of the apex court was challenged on July 17. In fact, the court had on July 17 said that 15 rebel MLAs should not be compelled to become part of the proceedings of the House. Whip will not apply to these MLAs. Karnatak Congress chief Dinesh Gundu Rao filed a petition seeking the clarification on the decision by the court. It states that the order of the court affects the party’s right to issue whip.


JDS had issued whip for legislators, Chief Minister Kumaraswamy issued Whip to all 37 MLAs of JDS to be present in the House. Among them are three rebel MLAs Narayan Gowda, Gopalaiya and H. Viswanath. JDS has said that if the legislators remain non-existent or vote against the trust vote then action will be taken to disqualify the party under the law. However, Congress legislator Ramalinga Reddy, who resigned, said that he is in the party and will vote in favor of the government.

13 Congress MLAs and 13 JDS MLAs resigned, Umesh Kamatalli, BC Patil, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Shivaram Habbar, H. Viswanath, Gopalaiya, B Bastaraj, Narayan Gowda, Muniritana, ST Somasekhara, Pratap Gowda Patil, Muniratna and Anand Singh submitted resignations Are. At the same time, suspended Congress MLA Roshan Baig also resigned. On June 10, K Sudhakar, MTB Nagraj resigned.
