The Constellation Network announced on August 26 that it would utilize blockchain technology to provide a data security solution for the US Air Force.
The company’s Hypergraph Network would be used to provide end-to-end security for managing confidential data recorded by the military.
Constellation co-founder and chief strategy officer Benjamin Diggles said in a statement:
“In the last few years, blockchain technology has become very attractive to enterprise organizations with its promise to deliver more efficiency and security for numerous use cases, including supply chain management.
This contract opens the door to bigger, more critical uses of blockchain for data protection in a global digital infrastructure, bringing forth the true promises of the core technology.”
The announcement revealed that Constellation has been working with Kinnami Software Corporation to develop a solution for the US military’s transportation (logistics) system, such as exchanging mission data with private companies.
Sujeesh Krishnan, CEO at Kinnami, said:
“Securing sensitive data has become an increasing challenge for most enterprises. In the defense sector, protecting data is critical to saving lives, successful mission outcomes, and ensuring national security. Ensuring trust and integrity in the data provides an important additional level of operational confidence.”
It was also revealed that ‘DAG’, the network’s native token, would be used to access the network.
With the network’s move to phase 2 of the collaboration, Constellation has collaborated with USTRANSCOM, Air Mobility Command (AMC), AMC’s 618 Air Operations Center (AOC), and a representative Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) partner.
