One user sent 5,500 BTC, equivalent to more than R $ 180 million to Binance's portfolio.
The transfer, included in block 623468, took place on Sunday (29) at 11:29 am. To carry out the transaction, a fee of only 0.00008151 BTC (R $ 2.70) was paid.
According to the Twitter account Whale Alert, dedicated to reporting large volume transfers, the sender is unknown.
Generally, when a considerable volume is transferred to an exchange, an alert is triggered in the market about a possible eviction, leading to a drop in price. And it seems that it happened.
A few hours after that transfer, the price of bitcoin fell $ 300, to $ 5,800, but recovered on Monday and is already trading above $ 6,500.
In November 2019, a transaction involved more than R $ 1.5 billion in bitcoin (92,500 BTC at the time). Even with the high amount transferred, the network fee was only 0.00005507 BTC, equivalent to R $ 1.70.
In October, another billionaire transfer was also made. The person responsible for sending was the Bitstamp cryptocurrency exchange.
The transaction, which took place in block 599361, involved more than 112 thousand bitcoins, equivalent to almost R $ 4 billion and the network fee was only 0.00046743 BTC, around R $ 16 reais.
In May last year, Binance made two major movements of funds in BTC which, together, sent R $ 5 billion and resulted in a fee of R $ 500.
The first transaction of 77,410 BTC (approximately R $ 2.7 billion at the time), only a R $ 78 fee was paid.
The second transaction was 68,570 BTC (approximately R $ 2.4 billion) and had a fee of R $ 430.
